- June 1, 1944 Transferred to Military Government, England as Deputy Administrator of A1A3 State Team and was also assigned to the Staff Study Program of ECAD where he was in charge of the Public Safety Section. He was also assigned as the Commanding Officer of the F1F2 City Team and after he entered Germany was assigned to the G-5 Section of the 7th U.S. Army.
- April 29, 1945 After hearing that the Dachau Concentration Camp was still standing, Joyce was attached to the 45th division which took command during the liberation of the Camp. Joyce helped the prisoners regain strength and organized transportation to all European countries. After Dachau was liberated, he returned HQ 7th Army.

The letter goes on to declare that hunting had to be in line with the local government’s rules, and that Americans must attain hunting licenses.
